Come Back to Texas!
Here are a few more details about how I got to where I am now!
During my 4 years at Frogville, I worked at two precious schools run by Frogville. I fell in love with all the students and staff and everything about the two schools. It truly made me love what I do and realize my passion for teaching and what I wanted to do with my life. The position I held was simply a job for students attending Frogville because the budget did not allow for a full time teaching position. I was happy to oblige! As graduation came and went I said my goodbyes and left the lone star state with all intentions of calling Sandy home indefinitely.
Like I said before, Dr.DR had the answer to my prayers about my future. She called to tell me that the budget had been amended and a full time APE teacher was needed... so naturally she thought of ME! After weighing my options and grappling with the thought of once again leaving my dear Sandy, I decided to go for it. This was my chance to start again. I updated my resume and filled out the application. While visiting Texas in February, I had an interview at the school! The simple act of teaching those kids that I love so dearly confirmed the fact that this is where I wanted to be.
After numerous interviews and sample teaching lessons, I said farewell to Texas yet again and headed back to Sandy! Others had applied for the same position (it's like the perfect job, who wouldn't want it!), so all I could do was wait, and since I was the first to interview, I knew I had a while...

23 Years, Leading up to now!
I promised a little background info, so here it goes. My past 23 years in one post, woah!
After growing up in Sandy CA and loving every minute, I decided it was time for a change and what better time than college! So with much of my parents help, I set off for Funky Town Texas where I spent 4 amazing years. Friends, family, classes, college football and good times taught me to sincerely love that place (which I'll call FrogVille University). But after four years, I had bigger and better things to think about! My best friend, I'll call her Pal, and I were not ready to settle down with jobs and be grown ups just yet!! A month after we graduated from our respective universities, we packed our backpacks and spent 5 months in Europe! Pal and I worked in the Swiss Alps at a sports summer camp for 11 weeks and then traveled to 13 countries for two and a half months after that. Come Thanksgiving time, we decided to reunite with the fams and come home to Sandy.
With Europe behind me, I needed to find a job, and in this economy, that was not such an easy task. I came out of Frogville U with my degree in Kinesiology and teaching credential in Physical Education. Since December, I have been substitute teaching in the very same school district that I went through in Sandy, which coincidentally is the same one momma works in! With her steller connections, I was able to stay busy in the schools. Thanks mom! :)
In December, I started thinking about my options for my future. I could literally do anything and go anywhere. The question was, where did I want to be and what did I want to go? A few options included returning to my beloved Texas to find a teaching job, move to Hawaii like my cousin just for fun, stay in California and try and battle finding a teaching career, or go back to school.
I got a phone call from my advisor and mentor while at Frogville, I'll call her Dr.DR. She knew my delima of what to do next and she sparked my interest because here I am now one month away from leaving Sandy for Funky Town. I'll get into that a little more later. But for now, you know a little more than before!
Catch ya on the flip side,
Cali
